Abuse and copyright reports

Updated 30 Sep 2026

This page says how to report content or behaviour on a site delivered through CacheGenie, what a copyright notice must contain, and what we do with a report. It also gives our contact points under the EU Digital Services Act.

What to report and where#

Report illegal content, phishing, malware, copyright infringement, an attack coming from a site we deliver, or anything else that breaks our Acceptable Use Policy. Email team@cachegenie.com, or write to PikaEdge Ltd., Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA, United Kingdom. Tell us:

  • the URL of the material, in full;
  • what it is, and why it is unlawful or breaks the policy;
  • who you are and how we can reach you.

We acknowledge every report.

What we do#

CacheGenie is a content delivery network: we cache and pass on what our clients' own servers publish. We do not host it, so we cannot remove it from the internet; the client can, and we can stop delivering it.

Where the material is plainly unlawful, or the risk to viewers, to other clients or to our network is immediate, we pause the zone or suspend the account at once. Otherwise we pass the report to the client, who has two working days to remove the material or to tell us why it should stay, and we act under the Acceptable Use Policy if it is not dealt with. A report is shared with the client it is about, unless the law forbids it; tell us if your details must be left out. We tell you what was done where we can, we keep a record of reports and of what was done, and we cooperate with courts, regulators and law enforcement.

A notice under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act must contain the following, and we ask the same of any copyright notice:

  • the work you say is infringed;
  • the URL where the copy appears;
  • your name and how to reach you: a postal address, a telephone number or an email address;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
  • a statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner;
  • your signature, physical or electronic.

As a cache, we remove or disable our copy once the material has been removed or disabled at the site it came from, or a court or other authority has ordered that; say so in your notice if it has. Otherwise we pass the notice to the client, who controls the site, and handle it as any other report. The client may answer, saying why they are entitled to deliver the material, and we pass the answer to you. A client whose zones repeatedly carry infringing material has the agreement ended.

The US designated-agent registration is being made and its details will be published here; until then, send notices to the address above.

EU Digital Services Act#

Under the Digital Services Act we are an intermediary service that caches content. Our single point of contact, for the authorities of the EU and its member states and for anyone who uses the service, is team@cachegenie.com; write in English. The restrictions we place on what clients may deliver, and how we apply them, are in the Acceptable Use Policy.

Our EU legal representative is being appointed and will be named here.
